As promised, Ubisoft has unveiled a portable companion piece to this holiday's new-gen Prince of Persia, dubbing the pint-sized platformer "Prince of Persia: The Fallen King." Featuring an independent storyline and "unique stylus controls" (natch), The Fallen King sees the agile -- and now adorable -- acrobat foiling a mean ol' corruption that has encroached on every corner of the kingdom. Presumably, you'll also help some sort of king to get up.
Joining the prince in his wall-running adventures is "mysterious new ally" and playable character, Magus. He'll (it'll?) apparently use magical powers to help you overcome all manner of devious traps and puzzles. With the aid of Ubisoft's Casablanca studio, this little prince will join his big brother on shelves just in time for Holiday 2008.

I just think that it's in bad taste to milk a decent franchise so voraciously.

Here end his sad life with this shotgun.
Be a man Jimmy and kill chibi prince or what we used to call the prince of persia.
Too much Wonder Showzen for you! :P (I LOVE that show) ;__;

Looks alright so far. I loved the classic PoP games and the XBLA Remake, and other meticulously animated 2D side-scrolling platformers with an emphasis on realistic physics. I'm interested.

Ds games are great but as a POP fan this is an insult. I hate what Ubisoft is doing; they are killing the original POP (Not the franchise) in order to bring a more wapanese Prince of Persia. Hell the Emo POP was weird but we learn to accept but this chibi POP is just plain bad.
I remember the first POP games: Plain hard with explicit deaths (F*ck even for a 2D game the deaths in POP were traumatic), all about skill and memorization (Unless you cheated).
F*ck ubisoft,f*ck them.Seriously why the couldn’t use AC engine for the new POP? why he had to be wapanese? In a second thought why he had to be Emo in POP:R?.
Exactly the same thing happens on the Wii: we get the dumbed-down, cutesy-filtered versions of what's released on the real consoles. I want to love Nintendo's platforms. They just make it very hard.

Frankly, not seeing a problem here. If they make the game 2D, stick to classic classic gameplay, I look forward to it. I want to know more about the gameplay but I would love a dungeon action game. Character design isn't TOOO abrasive either.

You know isn't the graphics but the fact that knowing most Ubisoft DS games is either going to suck or be incredibly easy.
I mean “Megaman Powered!” up compensated the sugar overdose with a can of whoop ass and cheap deaths.
He drives the villains crazy, 'cos he's a lunatic!
I have to agree with Sheppy here -- I think this game looks like it could be pretty fun. And I *like* the cute art style. I'll have the console version to fall back on if I want something tougher.
(At least it's not developed by Gameloft.)
I often don't care about DS ports, but that main image of the Prince looks like friggin fan art.

My Sims is an insult to everyone that knows the impact The Sims had on "casual-gamers" (yuk, hate this term) and people that didn't even know they liked videogames. By turning everything into this mass compatible bullcrap is just awful. I fear the DS users are even more affected by this than anyone else because their platform always allows for some ridiculous hardware excuses.
In my opinion Ubisoft is walking a wicked path with some of their latest decisions but I don't really think anything will change for the better. As long as people keep buying these obscenities they will keep making them :/

Ubisoft fault, your hate most be directed to ubisoft. Nintendo didn't make those games they just licensed them.
Is not Nintendo's fault they license those games, I mean they got a truck of money and they aren't made of stone.
That pisses me off ... and I don't even own a DS.
Trust me, parents will look at this and buy it for their tykes in droves. "This looks just like that show little Timmy watches! He'll probably like it!"
No company will ever refuse money.

I wish they hadn't made him SO chibi. I mean Link from Wind Waker is a child, but he has an artistic look to him, this is just stupid.
