Check out Wii's "Check Mii Out" Channel
We checked out the rumors back in March and checked out the official announcement back at E3, but tonight we finally get a chance to check out the Check Mii Out channel for ourselves.
Upon the first load, the channel asks you to pick a Mii to serve as your "artisan," as sort of signature for any Miis you might choose to share. After that you can choose between two main sections. In the Posting Plaza, you can check out a random assortment of Miis from your region or around the world, and also the most popular Miis as picked by other users. Any Mii you like can be given the "I like it" seal of approval, or be copied and imported directly to your Mii channel. You can also post your created Miis in this section for evaluation.
In the Contests area, you can upload Miis based on certain assigned themes -- the first contest asks for your best "Mario without his cap." Once the contest is done in six days, you'll be able to pick out your favorite entries and view the results.
It's easier to understand if you see it rather than just reading about it, so check out a quick video after the break.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in.]

Already made my "Mario without a hat" entry. Looking forward to seeing the entries!

- Now if only it'd stream the current contest theme on the channel icon. That way, I wouldn't have to click on it, then go back to the Mii Channel to make it.

My God- it's full of Michael Jacksons!

And there's a good number of Pac-Mans in there, too.

Who's that animal thing? I saw him twice, once as K.B. and once as B.K.

Also, the only thing I hate about it is that, I can't seem to find the Miis that I upload...
Any heal in this area would be appreciated...

Anyways, there was a distinct lack of V from V for vendetta. So I uploaded one. ^_^

well actually you can sign up for messages to be sent to your Wii Message board when new updates like this happen. So you don't even need to turn on your wii, you will see blue light and message will tell you to check out the channel

Actually I like the initials. It's fun to look at them and think for a second. The moment you realize what they stand for is awesome.
Also the "call friends" button is GREAT! I guess it calls Miis with similar names and similar features. The Einstein ones are very good!
My local channel has a good variety with a lot of original designs, but the world one is full of Charlie Brown, Michael Jackson, Star Wars characters, and versions of some burly bearded man who I don`t recognize.

Nintendo really needs to patch the Mii channel to include more features.

I know I sound like an anti-Wii fanboy, but it's just how I feel.

And because Super Mario Galaxy doesn't come out tomorrow or anything.
- View my Miis' rankings, how many viewed their profiles, how many liked them, and how many saved them to their Wii.
- Subscribe to an artisan. Via some screen you could view new Miis from your favorite artisans.
- Categories (not just Skills) assigned to Miis. This would make searching for Miis easier. How many are already applicable to Movie, Videogames, TV, Music, and even ORIGINAL concepts?
- What's New menu. Find the most popular of the newest Miis.

This is a great idea, really, but the execution leaves much to be desired.
You know, it's been a feature since launch.

If you wish to provide this effect to friends, I suggest (and did myself) uploading the actual mii you use as your artisan. They are usually unique enough. You can then just share that one mii's code to share your collection.
